Meet Our Educators

CVC Preschool believes building relationships and partnerships with both educators and children and educators and families is at the heart of our practice. We value that we are a small team, which enables children to experience continuity of care.

Why I love teaching...

I love watching a child’s face light up when they grasp a new concept or skill. I love being part of teaching that concept or skill and being present in their prideful moment.

Why I love teaching...

Being an educator to young children allows me to be creative, to wonder and consider the world from a child’s perspective. It provides opportunities for me to continually learn and grow, to be dynamic and have fun as I build meaningful connections to support young learners. That's why I love teaching.

Why I love teaching...

I love teaching because I am able to encourage the children to imagine and wonder as they learn through play.

Why I love teaching...

I enjoy teaching because no other profession gives the satisfaction, challenges, joys, triumphs, creativity and inspiration like teaching does. No two days are ever the same, and positives always outweigh the  negatives. As a teacher, you  are in a unique position to truly help people every day to become the best they can be. I enjoy being inspired, as well as inspiring others. The best feeling is leaving work every day, knowing that, no matter how small, I’ve made a difference to someone in some way.

Why I love teaching...

I enjoy teaching as every day is an adventure. Children have amazing ideas and perspectives, are energetic and are willing to take risks when it comes to learning. I then have the opportunity to share in the excitement, inspire creativity and support children to learn their own way.

Why I love teaching...

I enjoy being an educator as it provides me with the opportunity to interact, engage with and support our next generations. I love that I am able to encourage, help, and teach whilst having fun and learning. Everyday is different as an educator, who wouldn’t love that!

Why I love teaching...

I love seeing things through a child’s eyes and being that friend that the children can come to in times of need. I also enjoy spending my days in our beautiful learning environment that is designed with children in mind where they can move their bodies, take some risks and play.

Why I love teaching...

I love teaching because early childhood is a time of rapid growth, curiosity, and discovery. Children in this stage are eager to explore the world around them, and their excitement for learning is contagious. I love witnessing when they grasp new concepts, whether it’s mastering a new skill, understanding a story, or recognising patterns. Their imagination is boundless, and they learn through play in ways that are both creative and joyful.

2025 Philosophy

CVC Preschool is an early learning service created by the community for the community. It is a space to connect, evolve and learn together.

NQS Area 1

Educational program and practice.

We believe children are competent and capable learners who are offered opportunities to construct their own understandings.

Our ‘Flow of the Day’ invites opportunities for spontaneous and intentional teaching, collaborative learning, and connection.

Educators notice, recognise, and respond to children’s interests, then plan experiences to enrich and extend the learning unitising the EYLF. The children’s interest and learning is shared with

families and children through conversation and digital OWNA platform.

NQS Area 2

Children’s health and safety

Our service policies and practices promote a safe, healthy, active environment. We strive to protect each child through active supervision, incident

and emergency management, child protection, ten child safe standards and policy. Rest and Relaxation, body breaks, the Zones of Regulation, ‘Bucket filling’,

communal eating, Munch & Crunch, healthy food choices and sun safety practice provide daily well- being and comfort.

NQS Area 3

Physical environment

We acknowledge the Awabakal people as the traditional custodians of the land in

which we learn and connect on. Our preschool community strives to protect and care for Country and local natural resources. Environmental responsibility is embedded in practice, program, and policies. Our physical environment is an

intentional and vital part of our curriculum.

NQS Area 4

Staffing arrangements

Current research, theories, and understandings are considered and applied in the context of the uniqueness of the service through the process of ongoing educator critical reflection. Our rostering system ensures our ratio, supervision, relationships and engagement with children and families is consistent and meaningful.

NQS Area 5

Relationships with children

Each child is respected without discrimination or bias and has a voice.

Equity, inclusion, and diversity are embedded in practice. Children’s agency

is upheld and respected. Educators respond to children's ideas, views, interests

and needs.

NQS Area 6

Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

Educators strive to build relationships with families and community through the

communication tools of conversation, digital and social platforms, meetings, and events. Diversity of families and lifestyles are recognised and reflected in our philosophy, practice, and policy.

Families are acknowledged and respected as their child’s first teacher

and decision maker. Community engagement is at the heart of our service.

NQS Area 7

Governance and leadership

Regular review of our philosophy ensures it remains reflective of our service values.

Our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) is active and relevant.

Leadership is promoted and supported.

Induction of staff, students and committee are comprehensive.

Children’s orientation process is unique to the service.

Policies are relevant to the context of the service and reviewed regularly.

The service supports continued professional development and progress.
